Dutch Government and Industry Join Forces to Promote Horticulture at GreenTech

The Netherlands is gearing up to welcome thousands of international visitors to GreenTech, happening from June 11 to 13 at RAI Amsterdam. This horticultural exhibition highlights Dutch innovations in sustainable food, flower, and plant production. Throughout this significant week, the Dutch public and private sectors are working together to maximize their global impact. The goal is to establish the Netherlands as the world’s leading hub for horticulture and to foster valuable business connections between Dutch companies and international visitors.


As part of the Strategic Trade Fair Program, several Dutch public and private organizations are collaborating, including the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality, the Netherlands Enterprise Agency, Top Sector Horticulture & Starting Materials, municipality of Westland, AVAG, Dutch Greenhouse Delta, GreenTech, and World Horti Center. This program will host delegations from countries including Brazil, Canada, China, the Gulf region, India, Iraq, Iran, Japan, Korea, Thailand, and the United States. These delegations will include growers, investors, government officials, and policymakers, all coming together to explore Dutch innovations in horticulture.

Netherlands Pavilion at GreenTech

The successful Dutch horticulture ecosystem will be showcased at the ‘Netherlands Pavilion’ at stand 05.728 at GreenTech. The pavilion is more than just an information booth; it focuses on facilitating matchmaking and promoting knowledge sharing. With an engaging program, Dutch best practices will be presented, and connections will be made between the visiting delegations and Dutch businesses

Programme

Starting Monday, June 10, international delegations will delve into the innovative Dutch horticulture sector. They will participate in tailored programs, exploring various aspects of the Dutch ecosystem, from greenhouses to supermarkets and from universities to GreenTech. On Monday evening, the delegations will attend an exclusive networking dinner at the World Horti Center in Naaldwijk, providing an opportunity to connect with companies from the Netherlands.

The programme continues on Tuesday, June 11, at RAI Amsterdam with the opening of GreenTech. Here, the delegations can explore the extensive trade fair, where over 500 companies will showcase their horticultural technology innovations.

On Tuesday afternoon, two seminars at the Vision Stage will be held, followed by a networking lunch will at the Netherlands Pavilion. These events aim to bring networks together and facilitate knowledge sharing. During the seminars, speakers will address global challenges and present solutions from the Dutch horticulture sector. These sessions are open to join:

  • 10:00 – 10:45 | SPEARHEADING THE FUTURE OF FOOD WITH CEA: Learn about the most valuable worldwide trends and developments in Controlled Environment Agriculture. Dive into the world of leading CEA producers and Dutch technology suppliers, driving global food security and job creation. Moderated by Jaap Bond (Topsector T&U)
  • 11:00 – 11:45 | WATER MANAGEMENT: INNOVATIVE INTEGRATED SOLUTIONS; Together with the world’s leading Dutch water experts, experiences and insights are shared from the global market. Learn from the best practices on regional water-related issues, looking at various challenging climates, from tropical hot to cold. Moderated by Annie van de Riet (AVAG)
