The International Association of Horticultural Producers (AIPH) has granted approval to GreenTech as the first ‘Class D’ International Horticultural Trade Exhibition.

The next GreenTech will take place on 12-14 June 2018 at RAI in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. GreenTech is the global meeting place for all professionals involved in horticulture technology. The 2016 edition featured 415 exhibitors from 30 countries including all the market leaders, four connected themes: Crops, Water, Energy and Biobased, a Vertical Farming Pavilion and Demo Area for heavy equipment and machinery.

GreenTech launches a new community platform today providing the industry with a new network to suppliers ahead of being able to meet them face-to-face at the fair.

AIPH members granted approval during their recent meeting near Dusseldorf, Germany on 23 January. The approval by AIPH demonstrates the significance of this event for the global horticulture industry. Approval of GreenTech means that:

• AIPH promote the event to the ornamental horticulture industry worldwide through its international media database and grower association members
• Promote the use of the GreenTech Community Platform
• Ensure a good service for international participants and visitors
• Support the judging of competitions at the exhibition
• Run an event during the exhibition

Commenting on the approval GreenTech Manager, Mariska Dreschler said “We are delighted to receive this recognition by AIPH which will help us to continue to grow, attract more international trade visitors and become the international focus for horticultural technology.”

AIPH Secretary General, Tim Briercliffe, commented “AIPH has been approving International Horticultural Exhibitions since the 1960s, under an international mandate. However, to date these have been longer exhibitions (typically up to six months) and aimed at consumers and the public. In 2015 we introduced this new ‘Class D’ category which enables trade exhibitions, like GreenTech, to receive AIPH approval. We are looking forward to working with GreenTech, the first trade exhibition to have this approval, as we continue to support the global ornamental horticulture industry.”

Notes for Editors
International Association of Horticultural Producers (AIPH)

Since 1948, AIPH has united horticultural producers in an international community that thrives to this day. Much has changed in that time. Technologies advanced, cities rose from the ground, and we have become more connected than ever. As a result, our essential bond with nature has been weakened. AIPH strives to reignite and uphold an appreciation of plants that we believe is a basic human instinct. We support the work of grower associations globally and together we champion a prosperous industry, growing plants that enhance lives, advance societies and sustain our planet, for this generation and the next.
