The preparations for the GreenTech Amsterdam Trade Show 2018 are going very well. We are already looking forward to welcome you June 12-13-14. Registration for our world leading horticulture technology & innovation event will open the beginning of March. And we have some great news!
From now on, you'll have a proper excuse to come to Amsterdam every year. The biannual GreenTech exhibition will double its frequency and become an annual event. The exhibition will be combined with the GreenTech Summit, a day prior to the exhibition. New topics this year will be medicinal crops, precision horticulture and organic farming technologies. "We want to give growers, breeders and investors the opportunity to see the latest products and services in horticulture in the Netherlands every year instead of every two years", GreenTech director Horticulture Mariska Dreschler explains. "The Netherlands is the hotspot when it comes to high tech horticulture technology. The Dutch horticulture technology suppliers, inclusive breeders, are seen as the Formula One of the world. With the annual frequency, these suppliers have a yearly high-quality international platform where global producers and investors come as visitors, with sustainable production technology in focus. And with a yearly event, it is possible to anticipate the latest developments in terms of product range and knowledge programs."
The exhibitor lists for the 2018 edition are filling up steadily and Mariska expects the amount of exhibitors to grow to 450 at least. "Including all worldwide market leaders and innovators. For the amount of visitors, at least 11,000 is our expectation, from more than 115 countries." But the 2019 edition is also starting to fill up - or at least, the first company is about to sign up. It will be greenhouse construction company Dalsem. They've stimulated GreenTech from the beginning to strive for a yearly event.
Summit, flowers and organic
The first edition of the GreenTech was organized in 2014, succeeding the HortiFair that was held until 2013 in the RAI, Amsterdam. The GreenTech focuses on innovations in the sustainable themes of water, energy, crops and people in greenhouses, greenhouse technology suppliers, post-harvest machines, vertical farming and much more. The exhibition grew to over 400 exhibitors and nearly 10,000 visitors in 2016. Since the start the biennial event was alternated with the GreenTech Summit. Starting this year, the GreenTech exhibition is combined with the Summit on June 11th. Business insights will be shared on how the future world of horticulture looks. The GreenTech Exhibition is organised simultaneously with the annual Flower Trials and is expanding this year with co-hosted event The Organic Farmers Fair (TOFF).
